Magnetron Revolver: Build Complete

The Kimber K6s DASA Magnetron Revolver is finally complete.

It's taken more than 5 months from design to final assembly. I've learned a ton about working with magnets and acetal plastic. I also pushed myself on this build to a higher finish quality on all components. Some items that seem very simple, like a basic square block of plastic, are very difficult to finish well with basic hand tools.

I'm pleased with the final result. This may be my favorite build to date. Thank you all for following along. I hope you learned something as well or at least got inspired to undertake a project that will challenge your abilities.

Before we get into all the glamor pics, here's a look behind the scenes. The first two images are all the components for the build that I built or modified in some way...

and here is the main scrap pile that it took to make those pieces. This is not even close to all the scrap, but will give you an idea of all the cutting, sanding, templating, etc. that these projects take.

Two Special Thank You's

Two companies donated their components for this build a deserve a special thank you. I pay out of pocket for all the tools, components, etc. so I really appreciate it when manufacturers get excited about the vision of the project and offer to pitch in.

The first is Hoptic USA. I've used their quivers on previous builds and when they heard I was planning on using another, they offer to donate one to the project.

The second is HRV Customs. When I reached out to them about using one of their grips on the revolver, not only did they offer to send me one for free, they also offered to engraved the grips for free. I sent them the terrible design sketch below, and they turned it into the beautiful magnetic field design you see on revolver.
